At The HBP Group, we're looking for a Trainee Project Manager to join our Professional Services team and develop into a successful Project Manager, delivering ERP implementation projects for our customers.

You'll work alongside experienced Project Managers, ERP Consultants and Developers, learning how to manage projects from planning through to successful delivery while building the skills needed to manage your own customer projects in the future.

About the Role

As a Trainee Project Manager, you'll support the successful delivery of ERP implementation projects by assisting with planning, customer communication, documentation and project coordination.

Working under the guidance of our Senior Project Manager, you'll gain hands on experience across every stage of the project lifecycle while receiving mentoring and training to develop into an independent Project Manager.

 

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting Project Delivery

    • Assist with planning and coordinating ERP implementation projects.
    • Maintain project plans, RAID logs and project documentation.
    • Monitor milestones and identify potential risks or delays.
    • Coordinate project meetings and record actions.
    • Support project governance throughout the delivery lifecycle.


Working with Customers

    • Build positive relationships with customers.
    • Attend customer meetings.
    • Provide project updates and communicate progress.
    • Help manage customer expectations.
    • Support change requests and scope management.

 

Working with Technical Teams

    • Liaise with ERP Consultants and Developers.
    • Support solution design discussions.
    • Help coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
    • Assist with go-live planning and customer readiness.

 

Continuous Improvement

    • Contribute ideas to improve project delivery.
    • Participate in lessons learned sessions.
    • Maintain project templates and documentation.
    • Complete structured training towards becoming a Project Manager.

 

What We're Looking For

You may already have experience in project support, administration, customer service or coordination... or you may simply be looking for the opportunity to start your career in Project Management.

We're looking for someone who is:

    • Customer-focused and professional.
    • Able to prioritise multiple tasks.

Essential Requirements

    • Right to work in the UK.
    • Full UK Driving Licence.
    • Access to an insured vehicle for business use.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Desirable

    • Experience in an administrative, customer service or project support role.
    • Interest in ERP software or business systems.
    • Awareness of project management principles.
    • Experience using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint or Microsoft 365.
