At The HBP Group, we're entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking for a Sales & Commercial Manager to help bring our IT Services and ERP sales functions together under a shared commercial vision.

This is an opportunity for an experienced sales leader who enjoys developing people, building strong customer relationships, and creating an environment where teams can perform at their best.

Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and wider leadership team, you'll play a key role in shaping commercial strategy, supporting team development, and helping drive sustainable business growth across both our IT and ERP divisions.

You'll lead and support two established sales teams, helping create consistency in approach, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring everyone is aligned around delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

Success in this role isn't just about achieving sales targets.

It's about creating clarity, supporting people, improving processes, strengthening customer relationships, and helping the business continue to grow in a sustainable way.

 

What You'll Be Doing

Team Leadership & Development

    • Lead, coach, and develop both IT and ERP sales teams.
    • Create a positive, accountable, and high-performing culture aligned to our company values.
    • Conduct regular one-to-ones, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
    • Support individual development and help team members achieve their full potential.
    • Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across both teams.

Commercial Performance

    • Drive new business growth across IT Services and ERP solutions.
    • Support robust pipeline generation and opportunity management.
    • Lead sales forecasting and reporting activities.
    • Work with the team to maximise conversion opportunities and improve commercial outcomes.
    • Support strategic opportunities, major proposals, and complex negotiations.

Customer Experience

    • Ensure customers receive a professional, consultative, and value-driven experience.
    • Support strong relationships with prospects, customers, vendors, and partners.
    • Ensure sales commitments align closely with delivery capabilities.
    • Champion a seamless handover from sales into delivery teams.

Process, Innovation & Continuous Improvement

    • Promote best practice sales methodologies and CRM excellence.
    • Use data and insights to inform decision making and identify opportunities.
    • Support the adoption of AI and technology that improves efficiency and customer experience.
    • Continually review and improve processes to help the team work more effectively.

Strategic Contribution

    • Work closely with senior leadership to align commercial activity with wider business objectives.
    • Contribute to long-term planning, forecasting, and growth initiatives.
    • Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the MSP and ERP sectors.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with people who can demonstrate:

    • Proven experience leading sales teams within IT Services, ERP, software, technology, or managed services environments.
    • A track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
    • Strong commercial awareness, including forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM reporting.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience managing complex sales opportunities and customer relationships.
    • A collaborative leadership style that balances accountability with support.
    • The ability to use data and insight to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement.
    • A genuine passion for helping customers, colleagues, and the business succeed.

Essential Requirements

    • Right to work in the UK.
    • Full UK Driving Licence.
    • Willingness to travel to customer and company locations when required.
