The Role
As a Dynamics 365 Business Central Implementation Consultant, you'll be at the heart of delivering high impact solutions that drive real change. Working closely with businesses, you'll understand their unique needs, design tailored solutions, and manage the implementation process from start to finish. Your role will be pivotal in helping organisations unlock the full potential of Dynamics 365 Business Central, enabling them to enhance efficiency, foster growth, and achieve lasting success. This is a full time role based at any of our office, with options for hybrid working or fully remote working.
As a Dynamics 365 Business Central Implementation Consultant, you will play a critical role in fulfilling our mission by:
Client Engagement: Work directly with clients to understand their business processes, challenges, and goals. Gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions within Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Solution Design: Develop customised Dynamics 365 Business Central configurations and extensions that meet client needs. Ensure solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned with best practices.
Implementation: Lead the end to end implementation process, including data migration, system configuration, user training, and go live support. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Training and Support: Provide hands on training and support to end users, ensuring they are confident and capable of using the new system to its fullest potential. Offer ongoing support post implementation to address any issues and optimise performance.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including project managers, developers, and support staff, to deliver seamless implementations. Providing feedback and insights for continuous improvement of our implementation processes.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including solution designs, configuration settings, and user guides, to support knowledge transfer and long term system maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for several key areas:
Requirements and Solution Design:
Client Needs Analysis: Understand and analyse client requirements to design and configure software solutions that meet their specific needs.
Implementation Planning: Develop comprehensive implementation plans to guide the project from start to finish.
Project Management and Planning:
Project Coordination: Create and manage detailed project plans, ensuring that all tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
Resource Management: Coordinate with internal and external teams to allocate resources effectively and ensure successful task completion.
Configuration and Customisation:
Software Configuration: Adjust software settings, workflows, and features to align with client processes.
Customisation Scoping: Assist in scoping and developing customisations to enhance software functionality.
Training and Knowledge Transfer:
Client Training: Conduct training sessions and provide documentation to equip client stakeholders with the necessary knowledge.
Internal Training: Facilitate inhouse training sessions to build organisational knowledge.
Data Migration and Integration:
Data Migration: Contribute to planning and executing data migration strategies.
Software Integration: Assist in integrating the software with other systems to ensure seamless operation.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
Testing Participation: Engage in testing activities to identify and resolve any issues.
Quality Assurance: Learn to ensure the software performs to the required standards.
Change Management and User Adoption:
Change Management: Support clients in managing changes associated with the new software.
User Adoption: Address user concerns and encourage smooth user adoption of the new system.
Support and Issue Resolution:
Post-Implementation Support: Provide ongoing assistance to address any issues that arise after implementation.
Technical Troubleshooting: Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
Client Relationship Management:
Client Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients.
Identify Opportunities: Identify potential upselling opportunities based on evolving client needs.
Continuous Improvement and Feedback:
Feedback Gathering: Collect and utilise client feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Process Enhancement: Look for opportunities to improve processes, methodologies, and tools.
Staying Current with Industry Trends:
Industry Awareness: Stay updated on the latest software, technology, and industry best practices.
Knowledge Application: Apply new insights to improve implementation strategies.
Ensuring Project Success:
Client ROI: Ensure clients achieve the intended value and ROI from their software implementation.
Impact Measurement: Measure and communicate the impact of the software solution on client objectives.
Managing Project Budgets:
Efficiency Improvement: Actively seek ways to automate and streamline implementation processes.
Budget Management: Manage customer expectations to keep project labour within the approved budget.
The ideal candidate would possess the following Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
2+ years of experience in implementing Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems.
Strong understanding of business processes, particularly in finance, supply chain, and operations.
Proven experience in gathering requirements, solution design, and end-to-end project management.
MB800 Functional Consultant certification or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
Experience with data migration, system configuration, and user training
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Additional Desirable criteria:
Experience with Continia Document Management, Jet Reporting, or other third-party add ons
A working knowledge of Office 365 and related Microsoft technologies
Familiarity with project management methodologies
