With time sheets, it is simple to report time usage for an individual or a machine, and a manager can review the usage and its allocation for more effective ways of working.
Managing project supplies of items, services and expenses is an integral aspect of all jobs. You can use inventory quantities or make job-specific purchases using purchase orders or purchase invoices. For example, a service job on a computer requires a new disk. You create a purchase invoice to buy a new disk and record the job that it will be used on.
As a job progresses, materials, resources and other expenses are consumed and must be posted to the job. Work in Progress (WIP) is a feature that enables you to estimate the financial value of jobs in the general ledger while the jobs are ongoing. Create a job WIP method that reflects your needs and set it as the default job WIP calculation method.
During the project, job costs from resource usage, materials, and job-related purchases can accumulate. As the job progresses, these transactions get posted to the job journal. When invoicing, you can invoice the whole job or selected billable lines. Plus, it can be done once the job is complete or at certain intervals based on your invoicing schedule.
