Business Central Is Only as Good as Your Implementation

A strong ERP can still deliver a poor result if the implementation fails to understand how your business really works. The scope, processes, data, people and partner behind the project will determine whether Business Central genuinely improves reporting, reduces manual work and gives you better control — or simply recreates old problems in a newer system.

Two Routes to Business Central

Choose the Implementation Route That Fits Where Your Business Is

Not every Business Central project starts from the same place. Some businesses already know Business Central is right and want greater certainty before committing to the build. Others want a more hands-on transformation process that challenges current systems, processes and ways of working from the outset. We offer both routes — and we’ll help you decide which is right for your business.

Solution Design
Know What You’re Investing In Before the Build Begins

If you’re confident Business Central is the right platform but want greater certainty before committing to the full implementation, Solution Design gives you a clear picture of the project first.

Over four focused weeks, our consultants work with the people who understand your processes best to uncover requirements, challenge inefficient ways of working and define how Business Central should support your business. You finish with a complete, implementation-ready project design covering the scope, solution and approach to delivery.

360° ERP Assessment
Understand What Your Business Really Needs Before You Implement

If you know your current ERP is holding the business back but want to properly understand what should replace it, our 360° ERP Assessment gives you the evidence to make that decision with confidence.

We look beyond your finance system to understand how people, processes and data work across the business. That means uncovering the manual workarounds, reporting gaps, duplicated effort and process weaknesses that a new ERP needs to solve — before deciding exactly what the future solution should look like.

Discovery Deep Dive

We speak with teams across the business to understand how work actually gets done, where the current system creates friction and what different departments need from the future ERP.

Process Surveys

Your people complete tailored surveys that expose the workarounds, duplicated tasks and manual processes that may not be visible at leadership level. This gives you a much clearer picture of where the biggest opportunities for improvement really are.

Proof of Concept

We bring those findings to life using your processes and requirements, showing how the proposed ERP could work in practice before you commit to implementation. And because we are not tied to a single ERP product, if Business Central is not the right fit, we will tell you.

Business Central should continue creating value long after go-live. We help you review how the system is being used, identify opportunities to streamline processes and introduce further improvements as your needs change — so your ERP keeps supporting better efficiency, visibility and control over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between Solution Design and the 360° ERP Assessment?

Solution Design is best if you’re already confident Business Central is the right platform and want to define the project in detail before committing to the build. Over 4 weeks, we work with your teams to produce a complete, implementation-ready project design covering your requirements, processes and proposed solution.

The 360° ERP Assessment is better if you know your current system needs to change but still want to challenge your processes, understand your wider requirements and prove what the right future ERP should look like. It combines discovery, process surveys and proof-of-concept work before the implementation plan is finalised.

Both can lead to a Business Central implementation. The difference is mainly how certain you already are about the solution and how much discovery you need before moving forward.

How long does a Business Central implementation take?

There is no meaningful one-size-fits-all timeframe. The size of your business, processes, data, integrations and requirements all affect how much work is involved.

With Solution Design, the detailed design phase takes 4 focused weeks, after which you have a defined project ready for implementation. The 360° ERP Assessment is deliberately more exploratory, so its timescale depends on the depth of discovery your business needs.

Before implementation begins, we’ll give you a clear project plan so you understand the expected stages, responsibilities and timescales.

How much involvement will you need from our team?

We will need input from the people who genuinely understand how your business operates, particularly during discovery, process review, testing and training. That is important: designing an ERP around assumptions made solely at board level is how important requirements get missed.

We structure that involvement around the right people at the right stages rather than expecting your finance or operational teams to run the project themselves. Their knowledge shapes the solution; our consultants take responsibility for turning it into a workable Business Central implementation.

How do you control scope, cost and unexpected changes?

Good control starts before anything is built. We invest time in understanding requirements, processes and dependencies upfront so there is much less room for assumptions to become expensive changes later.

Our projects are built around clearly defined scope and structured delivery, with requirements agreed before implementation progresses. If something new emerges, we make the impact visible rather than allowing scope to quietly expand.

For businesses wanting the highest level of upfront certainty, Solution Design goes further by producing the complete implementation-ready project design before you commit to the build.

What happens to our existing data, reporting and integrations?

We consider what your future system needs from the outset rather than simply recreating everything that exists today. That means understanding which data matters, how reporting needs to work, which systems still need to connect and where existing processes could be simplified.

The objective is not to move every historic workaround into Business Central. It is to make deliberate decisions about what should be retained, improved or replaced so the new ERP gives your teams more reliable information and better processes.

What if Business Central turns out not to be right for us?

We’ll tell you.

We do not only work with Business Central, so there is no reason for us to force a solution that does not fit your business. Our job is to help you choose the ERP that best supports your processes, people and future plans.

That is particularly important within our 360° ERP Assessment, where discovery, process surveys and proof-of-concept work allow us to test the proposed solution against how your business actually operates.

If Business Central is not the right fit, we would rather identify that before you invest in the implementation — and recommend a more suitable route instead.
