Our Story

The HBP Group: HBP Systems, Kamarin Computers and Jugo Systems.

The HBP Group came together via HBP Systems, who were founded in 1991 by Sue Dixon and David Smith. Sue and David then went on to acquire both Kamarin Computers before Kamarin acquired Jugo Systems in 2020 to complete the group in its current form. Throughout our history, we have always valued our people and the culture we create because, after all, our people are what makes us who we are.

We have a little bit of history…

A little glimpse into the history of The HBP Group.

HBP Systems is Founded 1991

In 1991, following a management buyout of Humber Business Products, HBP Systems was founded by Sue Dixon and David Smith. HBP Systems would go on to become the founding member of The HBP Group but began life as a specialist accounts software supplier based in Scunthorpe.

Joanne Partridge Joins HBP 1992

Joanne Partridge, our Managing Director, joined HBP Systems in 1992 as a receptionist on a YTS scheme (now known as an apprenticeship). She went on to work in virtually every department and role within HBP Systems and is pictured here with her fellow Director Tony Pearson.

Pegasus Opera Is Added To Our Product Portfolio 1993

In the 1990s we became one of the fastest growing Pegasus Partners in the UK. Although not related at the time, HBP Systems and Kamarin Computers (who would later join forces as The HBP Group) were both heavily involved in the launch of Pegasus Opera, a new accounting package which would become one of the most well used pieces of software by small and medium sized businesses in the UK.
