OUR HISTORY

From Family Roots to National Reach.

The HBP Group’s journey began in the 1990s as a Pegasus accounting software reseller, helping businesses take control of their finances through powerful on-premise systems. To better support our customers, we quickly added IT services, a natural step that laid the foundation for the robust managed IT support offering we’re known for today.

As demand grew, so did we. In the early 2000s, three privately owned companies came together under one name to form The HBP Group, uniting around a shared vision to deliver expert support with local presence and a personal touch. That vision still drives us today.

We’re proud of our family roots, with Joanne Partridge and George Smith, the respective children of our founders, Sue Dixon and David Smith, now serving in senior leadership roles. Their continued involvement reflects our values: loyalty, consistency, and a genuine commitment to doing right by our people and our customers.

From our beginnings in finance software to becoming one of the UK’s most trusted managed IT providers, our history is more than a timeline, it’s proof of how strong foundations and the right people can shape decades of success.

Our head office is based in North Lincolnshire, where we coordinate the majority of our IT support operations. From our site just outside Hull we serve businesses throughout Yorkshire and the North. Our Peterborough office allows us to offer hands-on support across the Midlands and the East of England. Further south, our Hampshire location covers the South Coast, enabling us to provide truly nationwide support with local presence and rapid response.
