Business Products & Services Microsoft Price Increase in April 2023

Microsoft announced that it would be increasing prices for several of its business products and services in April 2023 in the United Kingdom. They have cited the ongoing economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic as the main reason for the increases.

Microsoft 365 Business Subscriptions See a 9% Price Increase

One of the most significant changes was the increase in the price of Microsoft 365 business subscriptions.

The popular productivity suite, which includes applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams, saw its prices rise by around 20% last year will now see an additional rise of 9% from 1st April 2023 . This means that a one-year subscription to Microsoft 365 Business Standard, which allows for use on up to three hundred devices, will now cost £10.25 per user/month, up from £9.40 per user/month.

Microsoft Joins Adobe and Salesforce in Announcing Price Increases for Business Products in the UK

It is worth noting that this is not the first time Microsoft has had to increase prices in the last few years, and it is not the only software company to do so.

In recent months, other software companies such as Adobe and Salesforce have also announced price increases for their business products in the UK. These increases were also due to the rising costs associated with running the business, such as investments in security and remote work.

New Prices Only Apply to New Customers and Renewals After April 2023

It is important to understand that these price increases will not affect existing customers who have already purchased or subscribed to Microsoft business products and services. The new prices will only apply to new customers or those who choose to renew their subscriptions after the April 2023 date.

Managing the Impact of Microsoft Price Increases on Small and Medium Businesses

While the price increases may be difficult news for some businesses, it is important to remember that companies like Microsoft, Adobe and Salesforce are also facing economic challenges during this pandemic.

They are trying to balance the need to continue investing in new features and capabilities for their products to improve the user experience while also ensuring the business is sustainable.

Maximizing Value from Microsoft Products and Services Amid Price Increases

One of the ways businesses can manage with the increase in Microsoft prices is by reviewing their usage of Microsoft products and services.

Businesses should evaluate their usage of Microsoft products and services to determine if they are using all the features and capabilities for which they are paying. By identifying any unused or underutilised features, businesses can ensure they are getting maximum value from their solutions.

Understanding Microsoft’s Price Increases and Planning for the Future

Overall, the price increase on Microsoft 365 business products, along with other software products may have a significant impact on small and medium businesses in the UK.

Microsoft has stated that it will continue to invest in its products and services to ensure that its customers have access to the best possible experience, but it is important for businesses to consider this increase in their budget and plan accordingly and evaluate other options that can be cost-effective for them.
