Transforming Accounting Processes for Amaze Hotels

Founded in 2021, Amaze Hotels is a distinctive hospitality group known for its quirky and unique properties. With five locations currently in operation, the company offers much more than just accommodations.

Their portfolio includes spa facilities at three locations, a golf course at one property, and expansive banqueting spaces that host numerous weddings and events. Employing approximately 450 staff members, Amaze Hotels is an ambitious group with plans to expand to 10 properties within the next 5–10 years.

As Amaze Hotels grew, their accounting processes failed to keep pace. Each property operated on a separate accounting system, leading to fragmented workflows and inefficiencies. The reliance on Excel spreadsheets and outdated data files resulted in cumbersome reporting processes. Preparing profit and loss (P&L) statements could take up to three weeks, significantly delaying month-end reporting and creating bottlenecks in decision-making.

After evaluating several options, Amaze Hotels chose Exchequer, implemented by the HBP Group, to overhaul their accounting system. Exchequer was selected for its ability to provide structured nominal codings and department management, which was critical given the group’s complex operations spanning 15 departments across five properties.
