Microsoft 365 Copilot Is Here: A Game Changer for the Modern Office?

2 min read

Microsoft’s latest tool, Copilot has the potential to change the way you work forever. You’ve no doubt heard of ChatGPT, the AI tool that has been sweeping the world. The partnership between Microsoft and ChatGPT’s developers, OpenAI, is now beginning to lead to the same technology to change the way you will be able to use every day software tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

And that’s just the beginning…

What is Microsoft 365 Copilot?

Copilot is a powerful new tool that is designed to simplify your workday and make you more productive. It’s a virtual assistant that can help you automate many of the routine tasks that take up your valuable time. Whether you’re working on a project with a team or tackling individual tasks, Copilot can help you stay organised and on track.

How Does Copilot Work?

Copilot is a new feature in Microsoft 365 that integrates with your other productivity tools, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. It uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to learn your work habits and preferences, and it can suggest ways to optimise your workflow based on that information.

For example, if you spend a lot of time each day sending emails to your team members then Copilot can help you streamline this process by suggesting pre-written emails that you can customise and send with just a few clicks. Or, if you frequently work with spreadsheets, Copilot can suggest formulas and functions that can save you time and make your work more efficient.

Copilot can also help you stay organised by providing reminders and alerts for upcoming tasks and deadlines. And if you’re working on a project with a team, Copilot can suggest ways to collaborate more effectively, such as scheduling meetings or sharing documents.

One of the best things about Copilot is that it’s incredibly easy to use. You won’t need to be a technology expert to take advantage of this tool.

When can you use Copilot with Microsoft 365?

Copilot has already debuted in Microsoft’s internet browser, Edge, but this next iteration looks set to take it to a whole new level.
On March 16 Microsoft announced in a blog post (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2023/03/16/introducing-microsoft-365-copilot-a-whole-new-way-to-work/) that they were “testing Microsoft 365 Copilot with 20 customers, including 8 in Fortune 500 enterprises” and would be “expanding these previews to customers more broadly in the coming months”.

The full roll out plan is still being expanded, but this is what we know so far…
