Hull-based window specialists, EYG, make a significant investment into their future with a move to the cloud, to support business growth.

EYG is a leading UK double glazing specialist with decades of home improvement knowledge and experience. Established over 50 years ago, they design, manufacture and install domestic glazing of any shape or size – from windows and doors to bespoke orangeries, conservatories and replacement conservatory roofs and garden rooms. They also manufacture and supply commercial glazing for all sectors, including new housing developments, hospitals, schools and universities, and office accommodation.

Finding their current finance and ERP system felt outdated and wasn’t keeping the pace when it came to advances in functionality and usability, Phil Dennison, EYG’s IT Director knew it was time to invest in the future of the business and adopt cloud technology, so reached out to The HBP Group to help support them in driving progression and modernising their processes.

Having already worked with The HBP Group for a number of years as their telecommunications partner, EYG had a full review of their current accounting processes before working with the business to choose the right solution from the number of well-known accounting products they work with. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, a completely cloud-based system, offered EYG all of the flexibility required for a modern business along with exceptional levels of functionality to manage the key areas of their business and connect their teams and processes.

Phil Dennison, IT Director, says:

“We chose The HBP Group for a few reasons. We liked the way the implementation project was put together – especially the expertise of the team and the structure of the project plan.

“They have people in various roles, with different skill sets for different jobs. You can tell that they know the solution inside out and when you do a project with somebody, it’s important to know that they have the knowledge required and know what they’re talking about.”

Phil, who was charged with carrying out the project, alongside EYG’s Finance Director Andy Artley, commented: “This is our first cloud-based system, so I’m really excited about this project. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is step one and sets us up perfectly with the long-term ability to adopt a more modern workplace and utilise the full Microsoft suite in the future.”

The new system is going to be key for EYG in future-proofing the businesses and allowing them to modernise otherwise dated, manual processes.

Phil continued: “Having a fully operational system that simplifies and automates many of our processes is going to be really good for us.

“I’ve done a few projects before with other companies and this has been the most involved that a partner has ever been. The HBP Group do things the right way. From our perspective, it’s clear the knowledge and structure are there – they bring in all the various skill sets that are required to implement a system like Business Central properly.”
