In this video, Anthony from The HBP Group’s Tech How Team explains how to correctly log out of a terminal server in Windows 10. If you prefer to find out how to do this with written instructions, we have included these further down the page.

Step-by-Step Guide

Stage 1: Logging Out Of a Terminal Server

In order to identify whether or not you are on a terminal server, the easiest way is to move your mouse to the top of your screen in the centre and look for a blue toolbar that will drop down. This will show you the name of the terminal server that you are currently on.

1) When looking to exit a terminal server session it is best to log out correctly and not just click “X” icon on the blue toolar within the terminal server. To log out correctly click on the Windows icon in the bottom left of the screen, then click on your name and finally click “Sign out”.
