The Main Reasons To Upgrade To Sage 200

Moving to Sage 200 from Sage 50 has a huge range of benefits for your business, including boosting your growth and new functionality to help improve efficiency wherever possible. One of the biggest draws for Sage 200 is its modular based system, which allows you to tailor the solution to fit the exact needs of your business and then add additional features on, so when your company grows, Sage 200 can grow with you. Some of the common features that trigger an upgrade to Sage 200 are:

Growth of Your Company and Additional Users Needed

By utilising Microsoft’s SQL Server, Sage 200 allows up to 50 different desktop users or up to 100 web users into the system at the same time. Sage 200’s database is designed to process large numbers of transactions, making it run faster and future-proofs it for the growth of your business.

Instant, Secure Access to Data Anytime from Anywhere

If you host Sage 200 in the cloud, you can access your data from anywhere, with any device, as long as you have an internet connection. Your Sage 200 solution is stored on the Windows Azure platform, which has more security and privacy protection certifications than any other cloud provider, leaving you assured that your data is safe and secure.

The Need for Improved Reporting

Through Sage 200’s Business Intelligence module, you can report on any element of your business by allowing any field, even custom fields, to be reported on. With this sort of reporting ability, you will be able to reduce the time taken to produce management reports and will be able to make better decisions by extracting information about the key areas of your accounts, customer service or sales.

Improved Stock Management

With the sophisticated Commercials module, your stock control and warehousing needs are managed efficiently and effectively. Multiple warehouses are supported (an unlimited number) and stock can be assigned to any one of them, along with two more levels (typically bin and racking) which can be assigned within the warehouse. Furthermore, individual items can be tracked, by batch or serial codes, purchased and sold using the Units of Measure feature.

Multi-Currency Support

Sage 200 supports multi-currency and will automatically revalue a transaction itself if the exchange rate on the receipt/payment is different to the invoice. You can enter foreign currency receipts and payments via the Cash Book, Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger, whilst your General Ledger reports everything in your primary currency.

Control Financial Periods

Sage 200 supports both Open and Closed period accounting, so sales, purchase, nominal, stock and cash book can be controlled individually. Transactions from each ledger are posted to the accounting periods and filtered depending on the posting date of the transaction. Each period can have a status of Open, Closed or Future and is assigned to either This Financial Year or Future Financial Years.

Enhanced Customer Relationships and Sales Cycle

Although a Customer Relationship Management tool is primarily used by the sales and marketing function of your business, it also provides greater transparency for your business reporting, with the ability to track sales forecasts and marketing expenditure on a project-by-project basis. The primary purpose of a CRM is to improve customer service by giving your sales, marketing and all customer-facing staff the information they require to complete their job effectively. With this sort of information available, your customer service will improve and, in-turn, your customer retention, and even cross-selling ability, will get better and better.
