IT Support Pricing

How much does IT Support cost and what is included?

Most UK businesses pay between £20 and £80 per user per month for fully managed IT support, although the exact cost depends on factors such as the complexity of your systems, the level of proactive support you need and your cyber security requirements. You'll also need to budget for any user licences, which often aren't included in the support prices you'll see online.

Our core IT Support package , elevate Essentials, is priced at £500 per user, per year, equivilant to £41.67 per user, per month

Why Does IT Support Pricing Vary So Much Between Providers?

One of the biggest surprises for businesses researching IT support is how widely prices can vary.

Two companies might both offer “managed IT support”, yet one may charge £20 per user per month while another charges £150+ per user per month.

The reason is simple: what’s actually included in the service can be very different.

Are Software Licences Included in IT Support Pricing?

One of the biggest drivers of price differences is whether licences are included in the monthly cost. Some IT providers only charge for support. Others bundle multiple tools and services into their monthly fee. For example, some providers include:

  • Microsoft 365 licences

  • Security and monitoring tools

  • Backup and disaster recovery services

  • Network monitoring (NOC)

  • Device management software

Some providers charge for these separately.

This means two companies may advertise similar IT support pricing — but one may include essential tools while the other requires additional subscriptions.

That’s why it’s important to look beyond the headline monthly cost and understand exactly what is included in the service.

All of our IT Support Packages include NOC and 24/7 server monitoring (which we believe are essential) but we have seperate pricing for licences, cyber security and disaster recovery services as each of these require tailoring to a business.

Why Are Some IT Support Companies Cheaper?

Lower-cost IT providers are usually able to charge less because they operate with engineers with less experience or expertise.

These providers may:

  • Rely on junior or generalist engineers rather than experienced experts

  • Offer more reactive support rather than proactive optimisation

  • Are willing to provide a slower response time as a trade-off for cost
  • Provide fewer monitoring or automation tools

  • Don't offer any strategic guidance or advice

For some smaller businesses this level of support may be sufficient. However, as companies grow and systems become more important, many businesses find they need more proactive expertise and strategic guidance.

Why Are Some IT Support Providers More Expensive?

Higher-priced IT providers often charge more because they employ specialist engineers and dedicated teams for specific technologies.

For example, larger IT consultancies may have separate specialists for:

  • Enterprise level Cyber security

  • Enterprise level Cloud infrastructure

  • Specialist high-end hardware with complex configuration

This model is often necessary for large or highly complex organisations, but it can also increase the overall cost of support. Ultimately, the more spcialised the engineers the higher the overheads of the business and therefore the higher the price of support.
