The HBP Group Grows Senior Leadership Team As It Announces New Group People Director

New Key SLT Appointment

As The HBP Group looks to the future, it has bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of Sarah Sutherland, in a newly created role, as Group People Director.

“We are really proud to have welcomed Sarah into our Senior Leadership team,” said Joanne Partridge, Managing Director. “The addition of this new role represents a heightened focus on continuing to invest in our people, their development and our culture. Sarah’s unique experience makes her a great fit to help us scale our talent strategy to meet our long-term goals.”

Founded in 1991, The HBP Group has more than 30 years of success helping businesses move accounts software and supporting IT solutions, working with businesses across the UK. Sarah will look to help foster greater engagement and further success across The HBP Group’s locations in Scunthorpe, Hull, Peterborough and Hampshire.

Sarah noted “I’m thrilled to join a highly talented senior leadership team and keen to contribute to its ongoing success. My primary goal is to enhance organisational effectiveness by leveraging our most valuable asset—our people. I aim to shape our People Strategy to fuel our future growth, nurturing a positive workplace culture where our team feels empowered to achieve their highest potential, in alignment with and bolstering our overall business strategy.

Sarah initially joined the business in May 2022 as the Head of People, bringing substantial experience having worked across a number of sectors at well-known firms across the Yorkshire and Humber area. Her role has involved steering the strategic and operational people agenda and overseeing its core HR functions.

Since May 2022, Sarah has introduced a number of additional benefits to their existing benefits package, which was part of the driving force behind the company’s recent Best Companies™ accolades. The group has been awarded twice, in as many years, as recognition of their commitment to staff and making The HBP Group a great place to work. Some of the more recent benefits include free lunches, enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave, private healthcare, holiday pay-back schemes allowing their team to sell back some of their 28-days (plus bank holidays) leave allocation and partnerships with financial and wellbeing solutions.

These benefits join their existing armour of extended leave, pension schemes, flexible working hours, group staff discounts, tailored training and personal development plans, paid social events and paid social trips for top performers.

Sarah’s recent appointment reflects the importance The HBP Group places on attracting and retaining top talent to support its strategic ambitions.
